This
is an early photo of the pizza garden.
It has tomatoes in the center.
Around the edge there are several kinds of pepper plants,
oregano, spicy oregano, chives, and green onions.

| In
early June, a pair of killdeer birds took over the garden.
They were very noisy and did everything they could to keep
gardeners and visitors out of their territory.
This one shows his tail. |

The
pair laid eggs that were gray in color, with black speckles.
The eggs were not in a nest, but were right on top of the pathway,
and were very hard to find. |

| This
shot, looking toward the church, was taken July 2. |

Keith’s
sweet corn and green beans (above & right) tasseled out in mid-July. |

tomatoes – can you hear them growing?!

| Here
is an up-close look at the banana peppers in the pizza garden.
The vegetables are growing fast – the weeds seem to be growing
faster! |
