 Welcome Home!

The Youth and their chaperones just returned from serving God in Indianapolis

It was wonderful to see our entire youth and adults step up to whatever task God called them to do. Everyone's call to service was significant in the lives of those people we served from the Boys and Girls' Clubs, homeless shelters, Habitat for Humanities, and the "ICAN" work. I know that a number of our youth developed relationships with the youth from the other churches. I would like to thank everyone that went on this years service mission, to include: Jason Arms, Jenn Arms, Cassie Caldwell, Rachel Caldwell, Mike (Sire Poppy) Foppe, Danielle Herbert, Erica Herbert, Donna Loesche, Josh Loesche, Lindsay Loesche, Cameron Mosher, Austin Russell, Parker Rhodes, Alex Tegel, Lori Tetzner, Sami Tetzner, Karina Thompson, Danielle Tribout, Ashley Underwood, Jennie Visk, Anndrea Wagner, Cheryl Whitaker, Chris Whitaker, and Craig Whitaker. It was nice to know that the church back home was supporting our efforts and praying for our health.  The work was important in reflecting Christ’s love through us. For those that went you allowed the love of Christ to flow through you. As we go our own way I want to remind you of the themes for the week.  Love serves – I pray that all members of the service mission, and the church, continue to serve God, the community, and each other. Love risks – develop the courage to serve and then go out into the church and community and serve. Love forgives – learn to seek forgiveness as well as forgive others.  Sometimes this is a harder task than the work we do to serve others. Finally, love lasts – let’s not just talk about it today or next week, but let us allow God’s love to continue on through our actions and our words as our lives move forward…LOVE OUT LOUD my friends.  Remember the “Great Commission” - then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."(NIV).
