Worship & Music

Sundays: Two worship services with Holy Communion are available during the school year at 8:00 A.M. and 10:45 A.M. 
Summer services are at 9:00 A.M. 
Our youth lead the 10:45 worship service when there's a fifth Sunday of the month. 
Children's worship activity bags are available in the sanctuary.

Advent: We join together in mid-week worship services at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesdays to focus on the true meaning of the holiday season. These services are usually preceded by a light soup and sandwich supper at 6:00 P.M.

Christmas: Worship services with Holy Communion are offered on Christmas Eve at 7:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M. Christmas Day worship is at 10:00 A.M.

Lent: We start Lenten mid-week worship services on Ash Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. with weekly Wednesday services, preceded by a light soup and sandwich supper at 6:00 P.M., continuing until Palm Sunday. Services are also held at 7:00 P.M. on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

Easter: Easter Sunday services are at sunrise and 10:45 A.M. Check your bulletins and newsletter for the sunrise service time and for special activities between services.

Accessibility:

A wheelchair lift is available to bypass the short staircase into our sanctuary. Handicap-accessible restrooms are located in the Fellowship Hall addition. Large-print bulletins and receivers for hearing assistance are on hand as well.

Nursery:

A nursery and playroom are located near the sanctuary. The nursery will be staffed during the 10:45 A.M. service. Baby changing tables are available in the nursery and in the restrooms located in the Fellowship Hall.

SUNDAY SCHOOL  

The Sunday School program educates children in the Word of the Lord through worship, song, story time, prayer and creative activities.  Our Sunday School and Confirmation Instruction are held between worship services at 9:30 A.M.  The Sunday School program serves children ages 3 through grade 5, while Confirmation Instruction includes students in grades 6 thru 8.  Throughout the year, children are invited to participate in additional special activities including Rally Day, a Christmas program, Vacation Bible School, Easter activities, service projects and much more.

Singing Opportunities at Peace

There many opportunities at worship services for singers high school age through adults.   

The adult choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:00 P.M. from late August through mid-May and is open for teenagers through adults.  Their Christ-centered musical offerings are for worship services on Sunday mornings, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.  Members of the choir also participate in smaller ensembles of 2 - 8 people year round. Rehearsals for musical offerings during summer months are scheduled to accommodate participants’ schedules. There are opportunities to sing solos as well. Choir and solo repertoire consists of classical as well as contemporary composers. Many choir anthems include rhythm instruments as accompaniment. Please contact the choir director, Susan Friesen, if you have any questions about singing. You do not need to read music, we will teach you.

Instrumental Opportunities at Peace 

Members of Peace of all ages who play musical instruments are welcome to share their talents with the congregation at worship services.  It is recommended that you have studied your instrument for at least two years and are comfortable playing in front of an audience.  Contact Susan Friesen if you are interested.
